High Air Pollution Impacts women’s breast density: US Study

Women living in an area with high air pollution may be prone to increased risk of developing dense breasts, a well-established risk factor for breast cancer, says a US study of nearly 280,000 women in State.

The Breast Cancer research journal reveals that for every one unit increase in fine particle concentration (pm2.5), a woman’s chance of having dense¬†breasts increased by 4 percent. Women with dense breasts were around 20 percent more likely to have been exposed to higher concentrations of PM2.5
