1. THE OBEROI BEACH RESORT, AL ZORAH
One of the most anticipated openings of 2017 (it’s scheduled for the first quarter) is The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, set in one million square metres of protected forest not too far from Dubai. The coastal region of Al Zorah is an area of exceptional biodiversity and an oasis of natural beauty in the United Arab Emirates. It’s a lush backdrop for this super-sleek, modern property that will feature a mix of 113 modern suites, villas and penthouses (all with views of the Persian Gulf), and hammam rooms in the spa. Here.
2. ICEHOTEL, SWEDEN
Famous for its mind-blowing constructions that pop up annually, Sweden’s Icehotel is planning to open a permanent hotel in the riverside locality of Jukkasjärvi. Kept froze by an eco-friendly refrigeration unit during summer, Icehotel 365 will offer guests the complete winter experience including dogsledding, seeing the Northern Lights and boat trips on the nearby Torne River. With nine luxury suites – each with its own sauna and bathroom – and 11 art suites sculpted by artists, Icehotel’s newest venture, opening on 4 November 2016, is set to be its coolest one yet. Here
3. WYNN PALACE, MACAO

Coming alive thanks to a state-of the-art sound and lighting system, the lake puts on a show that rivals the famous Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas. Other attractions include a scenic SkyCab cable ride experience and the resort’s awe-inspiring floral centrepieces. Is it a resort? Is it a theme park? It’s the best of both worlds. Here
